This past weekend, I went blueberry picking.
At first, it didn’t feel like something worth sharing professionally… but then I caught myself doing something I’ve been doing more and more lately, looking for meaning in the moment.
I noticed something interesting:
On a single cluster, every blueberry was at a different stage of ripeness.
Some were ready.
Some were close.
Some still had a long way to go.
And it got me thinking…
Why do some ripen faster than others?
Same plant. Same branch. Same conditions. Same environment.
It reminded me of professional growth.
We’re all on the same “branch” in many ways, same industry with similar opportunities but we develop at different paces. Some hit their stride early. Others take more time.
And then it hit me…
I’m in my late 50s, still learning, still growing, still pushing myself...and maybe, just maybe…
I haven’t even reached my peak ripeness yet. 🍇
There’s something encouraging about that.
Growth doesn’t have an expiration date. Your timeline doesn’t have to match anyone else’s.
Wherever you are in your journey, keep hiking.
You might be closer than you think.
