The smoke has lifted quite a bit since last week and our view of the lake is back! It was an unfortunate addition to our summer here. The coming week is predicted to have fair air quality that may only affect those with conditions affected by smoke. We have some air purifiers you can request to be put in your cabin. On another note, we have some new openings during July! Cabin 8 is available from July 27th to July 31st as well as Cabin 11 is available from July 26th to August 1st. Please call us or check out the website to book these.

As you may have seen in the news, the Northshore has recently been affected by smoke from nearby wildfires. While the worst of the smoke has passed, a few guests with health sensitivities have had to cancel their reservations.

As a result, we have a few rare openings available. While we prefer to book these dates in their entirety, we are open to accepting 2- or 3-night stays given the circumstances:

- Cabin 10: Open July 22–27
- Cabin 8: Open July 27–31
- Cabin 11: Open July 26–August 1

For your comfort, we have added air purifiers to most of our cabins and are enjoying cooler temperatures down by the lake.

During your stay you have the opportunity to take a whimsical walk in our field of lupines. While some lupine are invasive to the area, they also serve a beneficiary purpose in our ecosystem. Interestingly, according to the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, lupines are a nitrogen-fixating plant. This means they enhance the soil fertility by turning nitrogen into a form useful for many other organisms!

Yesterday the lake was glass. Today it's a bit more active. We are enjoying the natural air-conditioning! If you are missing the lake we have two 4 nights stays open. Cabin 6 is open Monday June 1 - 5 and Cabin 3 is open June 3 - 7. Our next opening is then end of July.

Nothing better than some Adirondack chairs around a campfire and view of Lake Superior. We have a few openings left in May as the month flies by!
Cabin 8 is open from the 24th to the 28th. Cabin 9 is open from the 25th to the 29th.
Cabin 16 is open from the 27th to the 31st.

We are very grateful for rain and all of the first responders and firefighters who worked hard to put the fire out. The fire is now 100% contained. Bob’s Cabins was unaffected.
