We are often asked by prospective customers why our service is priced at a premium compared to some lower-cost options they may see advertised. One of the most important differences is the scope and thoroughness of the work being performed.
Many companies simply brush the individual supply runs, commonly referred to as the โbranches,โ and then consider the system clean. That approach overlooks the most critical component of the duct system: the main trunk line. The trunk line is where the majority of dust, debris, and contamination ultimately collects, and it cannot be properly cleaned from the vents alone.
Our process uses specialized, professional-grade equipment that allows us to clean the entire duct system, not just the easy-to-access portions. This typically requires attic or under-home access so the trunk line can be physically accessed and cleaned after the branch lines are completed. It is more labor-intensive, requires additional training and expensive equipment, and takes significantly more time but it is the only way to achieve a true system-level cleaning.
What we often find is that homeowners believe they have paid for a complete duct cleaning from other companies, when in reality only the branches were brushed and the debris was pushed into the trunk line. In some cases, this can leave the system in worse condition than before the service was performed.
A good place to start when searching for a qualified duct cleaning provider is to verify that the company is a licensed HVAC contractor and NADCA certified. These credentials indicate that the contractor meets established industry standards, follows proper cleaning protocols, and is held accountable to professional best practices.
We believe it is important for homeowners to understand these differences when comparing services. When shopping for the right company to clean your HVAC duct system, it is worth asking what parts of the system are actually being cleaned and whether the company has the equipment and expertise to address the entire system, not just what is visible from the vents.
Education and transparency matter, especially when it comes to the air you and your family breathe every day.
