Ventura California based Lighthouse Video Services has produced a Documentary Short film exploring reading literacy issues in the United States and what can be done to effect a positive change. Various reading programs shed light on alternatives that help children learn to read when traditional reading methods do not work for them.

Comic-Con 2013 just released their program schedule. As one of this year's major attractions, a short teaser film of "Live Forever- The Ray Bradbury Odyssey" will be presented at 1PM on Saturday, July 20. Scott E. Smith, Co-Producer and Editor of the film, along with others who participated in making the film, will explore the creative process of bringing the extraordinary life of ray Bradbury to the big screen.

Ventura California Based Filmmakers O’Kelly And Smith Scheduled To Discuss Making Of O’Kelly’s Bradbury Film At Comic-Con International

Ventura California – June 17, 2013

The feature length film, “Live Forever - The Ray Bradbury Odyssey”, recently completed in November of 2012, is currently making its way through the film festival circuit. Talks for distribution of the film, plus a six-part series, are already underway.

Ray Bradbury’s enormous fan-base crosses all international barriers and always included those fans that religiously attend the annual Comic-Con International convention in San Diego California. Known as one of the largest conventions in the United States, last year’s sell-out event boasted more than 130,000 international attendees.

At 1PM, on July 20, 2013, at Comic-Con International, Ventura-based filmmaker Michael O’Kelly, the film’s Director/Executive Producer as well as owner of MO’K Films, and Ventura-based filmmaker Scott E. Smith, the film’s Editor and Co-Producer as well as owner of Lighthouse Film Productions, will participate in a panel discussion about the making of the film “Live Forever – The Ray Bradbury Odyssey”. An exclusive Comic-Con short sneak preview of the film will also be presented. Additional panel members will include Shawn K. Clement – Composer/Co-Producer; Ugo Derouard – Supervising Sound Editor; James W. Speight – Music Editor; and Devin Kelly – Young Ray/Interviews. With attendance subject to scheduling, the film’s stars, including Joe Mantegna, Malcolm McDowell, Edward James Olmos, Clifton Collins Jr., Hugh Heffner and Zach Meade may also participate in the event.
