This Memorial Day, all of us at The Colony pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. 🇺🇸

Living in a community surrounded by so many active duty military members, veterans, and military families reminds us daily of the courage, strength, and sacrifice behind our nation’s freedoms. Today, we especially honor those who never made it home.

May we never forget the heroes who served with honor and gave everything for our country.

⚠️ Beach Safety Reminder – Stay Alert This Time of Year! ⚠️🌊

As we head into beach season, ocean conditions can change quickly. Before heading into the water, take a moment to check the beach warning flags and understand what each color means. Those flags are there to help keep everyone safe.

🚩 Important reminder: Beach warning flags are taken down at night, but that does NOT automatically mean conditions are safe for swimming. If a warning flag was posted during the day, dangerous surf, rip currents, or marine hazards may still be present after hours.

📱 For the latest beach and area updates, we strongly recommend using VB Alerts to stay informed of changing conditions, weather notices, and emergency information.

✔ Stay aware of ocean conditions
✔ Never underestimate the water
✔ Help keep your family and friends safe

📍Events take place in 17th, 24th, and 31st Street Parks.
⏰ All shows start at 7:30pm.
🆓 All shows are free and open to the public.
🌦️ Event is rain or shine. For severe weather, refer to our social media channels for updates.
✅ ALLOWED: blankets, beach chairs, outside food & drink, coolers, rain jackets/pochos.
🚫NOT ALLOWED: outside alcohol, umbrellas, pets, professional camera/video equipment, vehicles of any kinds (i.e. bikes, scooters, skateboards, etc)

🇺🇸Be sure to visit the Heroe’s Walk, where we salute those who gave the ultimate sacrifice to defend our freedom. Banners are located along the boardwalk beginning at 16th Street and going north. These essays were composed by local Virginia Beach history students and tell the stories of various wars and conflicts and conflicts that the US has been involved in throughout our history. Banners will remain up until Memorial Day
