So a family friend bought the book before traveling South America. It so happened that the town where I’d interviewed an Ecuadorian was on his itinerary. When he got there and showed the hotel owner the relevant section of the book that included a photo of the interviewee, the owner brought him next door to the family’s pizza place, still there eight years later. The restaurant owner called his daughter from across town to see her face in a book. Our friend Duke kindly gave her the book as a keepsake. Small world!

I'm now in Haiti for I hope a long time. The book is (and I think will always be) available on Amazon in print and ebook, and I have numerous copies in my dad's basement that I don't worry about running out, at least until I publish my next book and get people curious about the first. Please don't hesitate to write with questions about South American travel, and for that matter, don't hesitate to visit there, or anywhere else your curiosity begs.
