Under the sea booknooks, dragons and fae of the oceans...
I found these incredible pieces from The Nook and Candle and Knobleware in Hannibal last weekend. They will be a new decor idea and theme at the treehouse! I can't wait to share these with my guests!

Summer foliage covers the tree canopy now. It hides the treehouse in the forest, providing guest with a true escape! Come and hide away!

May has been a month of celebrating love. Several of our guests are on their honeymoon! I'm honored to be a small part of their story! Our treehouse in it's design is for couples, but it shines when love is celebrated. Quests for herbs, oils, salts,and crystals when mixed with intentions of love, make for a aromatherapy bath. It is unique , being in a tub in the treetop! Congratulations to our newlyweds! We wish you the best life has to offer!

Yesterday's guest woke up to this just off the deck. He said it kept them company while they had their coffee as the sun was rising. Then I was greeting new guests and he flew onto a branch right next to the parking area! I've been listening to him for several days. Sounds like he has made a home on the hillside between my sunroom and the treehouse. I've been hoping for years to have one nest close to home. Looks like my wish came true!

The fairy houses are coming along. The stones are set, stucco is on, and paiting is in progress...A long forgotten forest cottage and greenhouses, is the look I'm going for. Then to the grapevine wreath, add mushrooms and other forged items and finally add the fairy lights. Follow along till it's completed.

Old Bridgeview Brewering is a perfect spot for a evening of cold beer, greatfood, and riverfront views! Just up from the boat ramp in Washington, Mo. 20 minute drive from the treehouse. Ray just took home first place for food at the BBQ and Bluesfest last weekend! They feature an ever changing line-up of handcrafted beer.
The vodka infused root beer was a good dessert!

I pulled out the old pots from the shed, more than I knew I had...and filled my garden. It was while I was taking pictures that I realized how many stories it told and the precious memories it stored. Plants from my friends, I no longer work with. My mom's peonies, the flowers we planted together when I was building the house.
The marigolds that were always in the gardens at home.
The for the first time I planted a vegetable garden. Not exactly like dad's, but all the same types. I added the little ladders that displayed his bird house he made from old barnwood. And added the herbs and a few books. It's been 26 years since we formed the perineal gardens beds and they have matured to large groupings, filling the spaces.
I think about the labor of love of stacking the stones and building the gazebo. Tons of moments with family and friends shared underneath it.
It's tedious work...hard on the hips and knees to pull the weeds and dig the soil. But I always treasure it the most! It holds my heart.
