What a night celebrating Lake Erie!

OMTA was proud to serve as a Presenting Sponsor of the Lake Erie Foundation’s Celebrate the Lake event at Catawba Island Club on August 26th, bringing together so many people who care deeply about the future of our lake and the communities that surround it.

We were especially excited to have our guests from the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Cities Initiative join us for the evening, continuing the conversations and connections from our Recreational Boating Economy Roundtable the night before.

From recreation and tourism to economic development and environmental stewardship, Lake Erie touches so many parts of our lives — and events like this are a great reminder of how much we all share through the water.

A huge thank you to the Lake Erie Foundation for another fantastic Celebrate the Lake event. OMTA was thrilled to be part of it!

What helps build a strong Great Lakes city? Access to the water, a vibrant waterfront economy and opportunities for people to experience the lake through recreational boating. 🌊

OMTA was proud to host representatives from the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Cities Initiative at the Sandusky Yacht Club on Wednesday, August 26, for a Recreational Boating Economy Roundtable, moderated by Cuyahoga County Executive Chris Ronayne.

Leaders from government, tourism, economic development, environmental organizations and Ohio’s marine industry came together for an engaging conversation about the role recreational boating plays in shaping successful Great Lakes communities.

From supporting local businesses and jobs to driving tourism, strengthening waterfront communities and creating a personal connection to the water, recreational boating is an important part of what makes a Great Lakes city a Great Lakes city.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the evening such a tremendous success. We look forward to continuing these conversations and ensuring recreational boating remains part of the discussion as Great Lakes communities plan for the future.
