WE'RE EXPERIMENTING WITH HANGING OUT OUR 5-STAR-HOST AIRBNB SHINGLE AGAIN AFTER A NEARLY TWO YEAR BREAK. YEE HAW!!! Thanks for keeping tabs on happenings here in the coming days. We know we disappointed a number of you who wanted to book back in here, but we needed to take a break and chose instead to rent our lovely furnished farmhouse to some folks who needed lodging between houses being sold, bought, built, etc. We'd love it if you'd book back in here with us and help us grow our reputation as one of the coziest, and most picturesque and peaceful getaways in Texas' upper east side. THE STORY BEHIND THE STAY...Friends, it's me here with another Song Farm Guesthouse success story and 5-Star Review for our Airbnb listing. In mid January we hosted a small group of women for their 'friend reunion' weekend. There are many great Airbnb locations to choose from, so we always feel honored when someone chooses OUR guesthouse for making more memories. I had more than one opportunity to brush up against this soulful reunion, and it was clear their friendship runs deep and they solved many of the world's problems while hanging their hats at our humble guest space.

Interestingly, the ring leader of this gather-up had heard yours trulies (Adler & Hearne) at one of our Texas Commission on the Arts-funded performances for the City of Allen a couple of years ago. She is a fan now, and had been following our news about our Song Farm Guesthouse outside Winnsboro.

She's moved to Alabama, and she not only invited some Allen-area friends out to join her at the Song Farm Guesthouse, she took advantage of one of our new add-ons (A PRIVATE HOUSE CONCERT!) The pic featured here is from the day Lindy and I popped in to serenade them before their evening meal.

What a treat, for us and them too it seemed. So you see, when you come to stay at the Song Farm Guesthouse you're a great blessing to these two scrappy folk singer-songwriters. when you add on a private house concert (or campfire concert), even more so. Here's the sweet review they left for us (below). Thank you dear friends one and all for sharing about our Airbnb listing with the ones you love. In a few more months we will have been hosting guests for one full year!

REVIEW: "My friends and I had a great, restful, rejuvenating few days at the Song Farm Guesthouse, time and space for talking, laughing, catching up, walking in the woods, listening to the quiet. Room and equipment to cook a bit, as our group enjoys eating together. Everything I had wanted it to be in planning for the time there! Plus I added a wonderful little concert one afternoon, which was the high point for us!"

May our song wrap its arms around this beautiful hurting planet. Especially on my heart this morning are those suffering alone and in fear due to laws and righteous attitudes that do not support the freedom of us ALL to be ourselves; just some of us. Thank you for the power in these words, Dr. King. And thank you Lindy Hearne and Lisa Aschmann for writing this beautiful song in tribute.

STORY BEHIND THE STAY – SONG FARM GUESTHOUSE GRATITUDE REPORT | We recently hosted Rhonda and two friends who meet up each year for the weekend following Thanksgiving. Forty years ago they served as nurses together in Fort Worth. Hailing from Texas, Colorado and Arkansas, these three delightful ladies could have chosen any Airbnb nest in which to land and they chose our Song Farm Guesthouse. As always, we were honored to be chosen. They were booked for three nights, but had such a good time they booked an extra night!

These three were so fun to host, and have given us permission to share one of the pics I took for them out by the Guesthouse campfire ring, along with Rhonda's awesome 5-Star Review, for which we are truly grateful! (SEE REVIEW BELOW.)

Between that cozy fireside spot and the big round kitchen table (plus the extra night's stay), I do believe they might have solved all the world's problems. It's the kind of unfolding that naturally happens here at the Song Farm, and we hope their story inspires you to come for your own stay one of these days soon.

HERE'S THAT REVIEW: "Our girls trip was long overdue and Lynn's place was just perfect for us! The location was great because if you needed anything it was only about a 10 minute drive to town. With a couple of friends of nearly 40 years and surrounded by tall trees with their autumn colors, beautiful cool sunny days, and chilly nights it was just what we needed!! The fire pit was utilized a great deal....in the morning having coffee or in the evening toasting marshmallows and watching the leaves fall as a soft breeze blew through them. We had such a great time that we had to stay an extra night! Lynn is a super host and we are really looking forward to our next stay at her place!"

STORY BEHIND THE STAY – SONG FARM GUESTHOUSE GRATITUDE REPORT | A couple of weeks ago we hosted a delightful Dallas-area couple for their fifth wedding anniversary weekend. Allie and Alex have a little girl and a baby on the way. They were fun to host, and have given us permission to share one of their selfies while here, along with their much-appreciated 5-Star Review, for which we are truly grateful! (SEE REVIEW BELOW.)

One of the cool unfoldings that weekend was that this couple chose our spot from Airbnb’s amazing diverse options, and they didn’t even know that the Winnsboro Art & Wine Festival was happening that weekend. It was an anniversary bonus for them to wine and dine and meander the festival on Friday. We love the serendipitous nature of being Airbnb hosts in Winnsboro!

HERE’S THAT REVIEW:
The Song Farm is the perfect place to get away from the busyness of life. The house itself is so quaint and is extremely well thought out. Anything you could possibly need, they have it - allll the kitchen gadgets, three beds to choose from, really cool book and record collection, working typewriter, quality toiletries, beautiful piano and guitar and even journals if you forgot yours! Lynn had her and her husband’s soothing music playing for us as we walked in, freshly picked flowers & a bouquet on the table, & treats in the kitchen. On top of the beautifully-decorated and well-outfitted home, the land itself is gorgeous. We took strolls around the pond in the piney woods, fished from the shore & made fires at night under the stars. Lynn has thought of EVERYTHING for her guests and is truly a kind, welcoming soul. She and her husband are greatly loved & respected by the community in Winnsboro and we can see why! We can’t wait to return!

P.S. She co-wrote the theme song to Wishbone!!!
