Tell us about yourself and your family.
“My name is Bryce Jasper, and I have been a member of Firm Foundation Ministries since 1999. I am blessed to be married to my wonderful wife Saryna, and together we have a son named Reid who is almost three years old. Serving as a youth leader has given me the opportunity to encourage, mentor, and help young people grow in their faith. I am passionate about serving God, supporting my church family, and being a positive example to the next generation.”

What is your role on the Camp Sozo team?
“As the VP of Operations for Camp Sozo, I oversee the planning, coordination, and ex*****on of camp operations. My role is to help ensure that every aspect of camp runs smoothly by supporting staff and volunteers, coordinating logistics, and creating an environment where campers can have a safe, meaningful, and life-changing experience with God.”

What is your prayer for our future campers?
“My prayer is that campers will deepen their relationship with Christ and that many will make the life-changing decision to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.”

Whether you helped prepare, serve, set up, clean up, or simply came, enjoyed some delicious tacos, and donated to Camp Sozo—we are so incredibly grateful for you! Your support means more than you know.

Because of YOU, we were able to raise $3,233 toward Camp Sozo! 🎉🙌🏼

God is SO good! We are excited to see what He is going to do through this camp ministry and all of the lives that will be impacted at Camp Sozo. 🌲❤️

We’re so excited to welcome campers for our first summer of Camp Sozo! To register, visit www.campsozo.org.

Along with camper registration, our Volunteer Application, Nurse Application, and Camper Scholarship Forms are also OPEN! 🙌 If you’re interested in serving, becoming a camp nurse, or need financial assistance for your camper, you can find all the forms on our website.

“I’m Saryna Jasper, wife to Bryce Jasper and Mom to Reid Jasper a spunky and fun almost 3 year old. We are middle school youth leaders at Firm Foundation Ministries and love it! We enjoy family adventures and discovering new places together.”

What is your role on the Camp Sozo team?
“I am the Marketing Director for Camp Sozo.”

How has God led you to Camp Sozo?
“Camp Sozo started as a conversation in the car and is now quickly becoming a reality! I’ve been apart of camp as long as I can remember so I’ve naturally had a heart for camp ministry. I’ve seen the life changing impact it can have on not only the campers but also the counselors and staff. I wanted to be apart of something greater than myself that will continue to impact generation after generation!”

Behind Camp Sozo is a team of people who are passionate about serving others, creating unforgettable camp experiences, and most importantly, sharing the love of Jesus with the next generation.

So, let’s get to know the people behind the mission!

First up… meet Ricky Ortiz!

Tell us about yourself and your family.
“I was born and raised in Houston, Texas, and have always enjoyed spending time outdoors. Whether it's cooking over a fire, exploring nature, or sharing the Gospel, I love activities that bring people together and create meaningful connections.
My wife and I now live in southern Michigan with our beautiful daughter, Cecilia. We met eight years ago while serving at Camp Cho-Yeh, a Christian camp ministry in East Texas. That experience helped shape our passion for ministry, discipleship, and using the outdoors as a place where people can encounter God and build lasting relationships.”

What is your role on the Camp Sozo team?
“As the Executive Director of Camp Sozo, I provide leadership for the camp's daily operations, long-term vision, and future growth. My role is to help steward the ministry with integrity, ensuring that every decision aligns with our mission and is guided by the leading of the Holy Spirit. I work alongside our team to create an environment where people can encounter God, grow in their faith, and experience authentic community through the outdoors.”

What does camp mean to you?
“Camp is more than a destination—it's a place where distractions fade and hearts become open to what God wants to do. Some of the most meaningful moments in my own life happened at camp, and I've seen how God uses the beauty of creation, meaningful relationships, and intentional discipleship to transform lives. To me, camp is a place of encounter, growth, and lifelong impact, where people discover not only who God is but also who He has created them to be.”

We are incredibly humbled and grateful for the love and support of our church family! ❤️

While our Camp Sozo team was away, our amazing kids and church family at Firm Foundation Ministries raised funds for Camp Sozo through their VBS program. What an incredible blessing!
