🇮🇹 WELCOME TO THE YONKERS COLUMBUS DAY COMMITTEE HALL OF FAME — LINDA MAGLIACANO PARISI! 🇺🇸

The Yonkers Columbus Day Celebration Committee proudly honors Linda Magliacano Parisi as a member of our 2026 Hall of Fame Class! ❤️

Born and raised in Yonkers, Linda’s journey with the Committee began in 1985 as Miss Columbus. Her one-year reign became a lifetime of dedication. She went on to chair and co-chair numerous events, including the Miss Columbus Contest, Kickoff Breakfast, Flag Raising, and Columbus Dinner Dance. In 1996, she became General Chair, making history as the first former Miss Columbus to hold the position.

Linda continues to serve as a Miss Columbus judge and generously donates the annual Miss Columbus Crown, helping preserve a cherished tradition for generations.

A graduate of Lincoln High School and Manhattan College, Linda earned her degree in Biology before becoming a Physician Assistant. Over an incredible 36-year career, she served in pediatrics, urgent care, and adult internal medicine, including as one of the early PAs practicing in New Jersey.

Her dedication to service extends to her parish, where she has served as a Eucharistic Minister, CCD teacher, Cornerstone leader, and Confirmation group leader. She is also a lifelong fitness enthusiast, sprint triathlete, and certified USA Boxing instructor who recently had the honor of cornering a fight at Madison Square Garden!

Most importantly, Linda is the devoted wife of Frank for 34 years, proud mother of triplet daughters Elizabeth,
Lauren & Julia, and proud new mother-in-law to Edward.

This honor holds special meaning as Linda now joins her beloved parents, Nancy and Mario Magliacano, who received the same distinction 23 years ago.

From Miss Columbus to General Chair and decades of continued service, Linda’s story is forever woven into the history of the Yonkers Columbus Day Celebration Committee.

🇮🇹❤️🇺🇸 Please join us in congratulating our 2026 Hall of Fame Inductee, Linda Magliacano Parisi!

🇮🇹 HONORING A LIFETIME OF SERVICE — LEONARD SPANO 🇺🇸

The Yonkers Columbus Day Celebration Committee is proud to announce Leonard Spano as the recipient of the 2026 Lucia A. Trovato Humanitarian Award.

A lifelong Yonkers resident, Leonard has dedicated his life to serving others — through law enforcement, education, youth programs, charitable causes, and his unwavering commitment to children and families throughout Yonkers and Westchester County.

Leonard served 23 years with the Westchester County Police Department, including 10 years assigned to the United States Drug Enforcement Administration, and rose to the rank of Sergeant. He also served as President of the Westchester County Police Benevolent Association before retiring from law enforcement in 2007.

His commitment to service continued through The Westchester School for Special Children, where he became Executive Director in 2010. Under Leonard’s leadership, the organization has expanded its programs and facilities while providing education, support and opportunity to hundreds of children and young adults with autism, intellectual disabilities and multiple disabilities.

Leonard also serves as Chairman of the Yonkers Police Athletic League, continuing his lifelong commitment to our young people, families and community.

Beginning in 2025, our Humanitarian Award was renamed in memory of our beloved longtime Chairperson Lucia A. Trovato, who passed away in 2024. Lucia devoted so much of herself to this committee and to the Yonkers community, and we are proud that this award continues to honor her legacy of compassion, service and giving back.

For a lifetime devoted to helping others, please join us in congratulating Leonard Spano, recipient of the 2026 Lucia A. Trovato Humanitarian Award. 🇮🇹❤️🇺🇸

We look forward to honoring Leonard as part of the 99th Annual Yonkers Columbus Day Celebration!
