Hung Kings Commemoration Day – Discover the roots of Vietnam
This national holiday honors the origins of the Vietnamese people, expressing gratitude to ancestors and celebrating the spirit of unity.

Have you ever noticed the differences in waste disposal between Japan and Vietnam?

Residents strictly follow detailed waste-sorting rules. Garbage must be carefully separated, placed in designated bags, and disposed of on specific collection days. Many local governments even provide clear guidebooks explaining how to sort each type of waste. If trash is not sorted properly, it may not be collected at all.
Interestingly, Japan has relatively few public trash bins. People are encouraged to take their garbage home and sort it correctly before disposal.

🇻🇳 In Vietnam

Waste disposal is generally more flexible. Sorting is not strictly required, and garbage is collected almost daily in many areas.
However, informal recycling plays an important role. Some people separate cartons, cans, and bottles to sell to recycling shops. If you stay in Vietnam long enough, you may see women pushing small carts through alleys, buying used bottles and cans from households. This type of door-to-door recycling buyer is uncommon in Japan.
