Quaint, rustic cottage for rent on large lake 90 minutes from Ottawa in the municipality of Bouchette. Very private location in a less-traveled part of the lake. The original cabin is about 85 years old, with a cozy living room and two small bedrooms, each with a double bed. On one si
de is a fully equipped kitchen with electric fridge/stove/microwave and a small dining room. Across the front of the cottage is a large screened porch (24' x 7') which overlooks the lake. The porch has a double bed (fall asleep while watching fireflies!) and a single sized couch suitable for a small child. Bathroom facilities are a powder room equipped with a flushing composting toilet and a sink with hot and cold running water, as well as an outdoor tub. The waterfront is about 250' of sandy beach with a gentle slope, perfect for young swimmers. Cottage comes equipped with canoe, kayak, and small sailboat. The site features a small meadow for running around, woods for exploring, natural clay outcrops for messing around, and a small stream. There are lots of games and books but no TV or internet. Cell phone signal is good from pretty much everywhere on the property. The living room has a working wood stove and there is an outdoor fire pit. Firewood is provided. The water system draws from the lake and is filtered but untreated, so we do recommend bringing in drinking water. No smoking inside the cottage please, but small pets are allowed.
