So here goes…

After two and half years of ups and downs, highs and lows, and enough heartache to last us a lifetime, we have made the huge decision to sell up and move on from the B&B dream

It’s not a sad decision for us, despite everything. It’s both a head and a heart decision, and is absolutely the right thing to do for us and our family

It’s time for us to move on and start afresh with new hopes and dreams for the future. Time to start living our lives again, rather than being consumed with the mammoth task that we unknowingly took on, through no fault of our own. Trust us when we say that this has weighed so heavy and never leaves us, overshadowing every day and everything we do

Time for a new life, a new home (still here in the Costa del Sol) and a new exciting future that we can look forward to together

We stand together, as we have through all of this, when sadly many wouldn’t have. We are eternally grateful to still have each other

And together we move forwards on to something new

We want to thank each and every one of you from the bottom of our hearts for all of your love, help and support over the past few years. We genuinely mean this and will be forever grateful

The latest phase of renovations! 🔨

The remaining wood (and termites!) have been removed from the ground floor 🙏🏽

We are structurally sound and ready to start putting back in, rather than the endless ripping out! 🙌🏽

Next stage full re-wire and mortar floor, then the finish line for this floor is in sight 🙏🏽💜

Two years today since we arrived in Spain to start our new lives 🇪🇸

It hasn’t turned out how we had hoped and planned, but we’re still here together, healthy and happy, and that’s all that matters 🙏🏽

Four have become five with our baby Pablo 🦜

And we have a feeling there’s finally some light at the end of the tunnel 🙏🏽

Here’s to the year of rebuilding our lives 😘😘

Hola from sunny Spain! 🇪🇸

We hope you’re all well!

It’s been quite some time since we posted anything on here, so thought it was time we let you all know how we’re getting on…

It’s been a difficult year in all honesty, with continued ups and downs. And sadly we’re still not in a position to open the Hotel… YET 😉

We have a busy year planned ahead and we’re really looking forward to getting started on stage two of the biggest renovation project we have ever taken on!

For now our priority is completing downstairs and getting ourselves a proper home. After living in one of the family suites of the Hotel for over a year now, the five us need some space to breathe! 🤣

A full re-wire, more RSJs, mortar floor and a whole lot of hard graft, imagination, DIY and shrewd thinking is on the cards! 💪🏽

The Hotel is definitely still Plan A, but financially we have had to re-assess what we can do here and now. We need a new roof before we can start the Hotel works upstairs and that’s going to take some time and saving… but we have got some other ideas up our sleeves 😉

Hi everyone! We hope you’re all well 💜

We wanted to share a little update with you all to show the progress we’ve made since we featured on Channel 4’s A New Life In The Sun!

Filming with us ended around October time and at that point we were still unable to live here

Since then, we have replaced the wooden structure of the downstairs ceiling/upstairs floor and converted a small area within the house for us to live in, thankfully saving us from having to continue paying rent 🙏

As you can imagine, this first stage structural work swallowed our entire renovation budget 😰

But we’re back here and settled in our little bedsit 🙏

The kitchen we recycled from upstairs and that’s in the ‘building site’ 🤣

We still need to replace the roof, renovate the rest of our home downstairs and start the Hotel conversion upstairs

Sadly we have lost almost all of the original features we fell in love with 😢

We just want to say an enormous THANK YOU to everyone who has supported us recently 🙏

Be that checking in with us, believing in us and/or by helping our project out with a donation...

We‘re sure you all know how uncomfortable the Go Fund Me made us, but we are incredibly grateful we trusted the process and went with all of you who suggested we do it 🙏

The tally is at 2,069€ which in less than 7 days is incredible, however we have also received some personal donations along the way and have so far raised an unbelievable 5,519€!!! 🙏🙏🙏

We are completely overwhelmed, lost for words and blown away by the amount of people who love us, believe in us and want us to succeed 💜

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping us out at a difficult time and quite simply keeping our dream alive 🙏

Ok, so with a huge deep breath, here goes...

We’ve been inundated with messages from you all, asking to help, offering support and requesting we set up a Go Fund Me page to get the Hotel up and running...

We are incredibly overwhelmed and truly humbled 🙏

Even strangers have been contacting us as they want to help!

We can’t tell you how uncomfortable doing this makes us feel and it’s something we had never intended on doing, but when we’re in the position we’re in, we guess we have to let go of our pride and go with it...

We’re doing all we can to keep our heads above water, but raising 150,000€ is no easy task! 😰
