We are shut down for a month to work on our property and enjoy some down time with family. We have been very busy and our calendar for June and July are almost totally booked...so we need to re-charge our batteries to ensure our upcoming guests enjoy their stay with us. See you all soon!

Time after being open for 2 1/2 years to switch out the dining table and chairs. My sister was kind enough to give them to me, but I have found that my guest...with all good intentions...tend to stain the cushions...I have replaced it twice. What do you think of the sleek new look?

I haven't posted anything lately, business is very good and I am so thankful. Of course, there is always room for more guests to come and experience what Boundary Country has to offer. Our 23 trails are amazing; you can bike, hike and ATV into the back country where the scenery is stunning. Just around the corner from my vacation rental is an entrance onto the Trans Canada Trail. The mountains are calling!!!

I have been very fortunate to have wonderful guests stay in my vacation rental over the past two years. With being so busy, having a travel nurse stay for a period of two weeks to a month is a bit of a breather for me.

I have hosted over 10 travel nurses, some coming back a 2nd or 3rd time. Having these nurses come in to fill the vacancies in our local hospital is vital to it staying open.

I provide a clean, comfy accommodation in a smoke-free environment, complete with bedding, linens, towels, washer & dryer and a fully equipped apartment with WiFi included so they can feel right at home.

The nurses come from BC, Alberta and I have even had nurses from Ontario. My vacation rental is close to our local hospital, but far enough and tucked away in a quiet neighbourhood where you can feel safe and secure.

Thank you to all my guests, but a special thanks to our nurses who are a vital part of maintaining our standards of health care. Working in a small community is special, it may not feel like a real job, but more like an extended family.

This is a special time of the year for my family...my daughter Erinne Allen puts on "Festival of Trees" at Gallery 2. This is the 7th year for this event and she has donated the money collected from the live auction of trees to three local charities: Boundary Community Food Bank, Grand Forks Christmas Hamper and Christina Lake Christmas Hamper...approx $22,000 raised so far in the first six years. Drop down to Gallery 2 and check out the beautiful trees this year.

This year we have a mix of some previous participants along with some new ones.  I am very excited to welcome all of you who decided to take part this year.
