Gosh what a great sight.

Sometimes a visit to RSPB Loch Lomond creates unexpected moments like this one!

Last month, Thomas and Jennifer Stewart captured this image of an Osprey mobbing a White-tailed Eagle! Talk about good timing...

There are lots of opportunities to experience the wonders of nature here, either on a walk along the trails or on a guided event.

Lovely feedback and review of The Old Dairy from South African guests this week. They had a gorgeous wire haired Viszla with them who also enjoyed plenty of good walks locally and further afield. 🙏🏻❤️

Our regular returning oystercatcher pair have laid 3 eggs. Fingers crossed they manage to hatch this year (last year their eggs were pinched by a fox unfortunately).
Did you know the oystercatchers usually mate for life? They also tend to return to the site and we are fortunate to have them here year after year.
The ‘nest’ is a simple affair - a scraped bowl amongst the gravel.

Oystercatchers nest here each year, aren’t we lucky? Not sure if it’s the same pair but they come back annually and spend plenty of time in our gardens and on the barn and office roof.
This species has an Amber conservation status and is more frequently found on the coast but we’re pleased to say there’s a good local population here.
