When storms rage between two giants — Iloilo and Negros —
a small island stands quietly in the middle. 🌊
🏝️ Guimaras — not born of fire, but of coral, limestone, and wind.
Its hills — Ambakan and Bontoc — rise only a few hundred meters,
yet every typhoon that crosses the Visayas pauses in her calm.
Because Guimaras breaks the wind,
scatters the waves,
and lets the sea catch its breath. 🌬️
Her mangroves absorb the storm’s rage,
her reefs soften the surge,
and her forests breathe peace back into the air.
The scientists call it wind friction, wave dissipation, and ecological balance.
But locals call her Diwata sang Kalinong —
the spirit of stillness.
She doesn’t fight the storm…
she teaches it how to rest. 🌧️✨
