Die koshuis-lewe is 'n gelukkige en tevrede manier van lewe vir baie van ons leerders. Huis Nieuwveld, geleë in die veilige gebied van Ou Hospitaal Heuwel bied 'n ko-opvoedkundige koshuis van graad 1 tot en met graad 12, met vele verblyf opsies. Ons koshuis het 'n aparte vleue
l vir seuns en meisies, met groot gemeenskaplikekamers, speelkamers en groot terrein waar ons besige en aktiewe kinders hulle rustyd kan geniet. Fasiliteite word gebied vir kosgangers om hulself te stimuleer en te vermaak tydens hulle "vrye" tyd. Die voorste grasperke word dikwels goed gebruik vir balspeletjies deur die leerders, en moenie van die "plaasdam" vergeet, waarin leerders, onder toesig van diensdoenende personeel, kan swem op warm dae.
'n Ervare- en toegewydespan van diensdoenende personeel skep 'n warm omgewing van omgee in die koshuis, wat 24-uur per dag ondersteuning bied om te verseker dat die leerders tuis voel. Hierdie span bied ook die nodige ondersteuning aan leerders gedurende studietye. Elke kamer is so gestruktureer dat dit ons kosgangers 'n gemaklike huis-weg-van-die-huis bied waar hulle die gevoel het dat hulle behoort tot die koshuis, vriende maak en hulle skooljare en koshuislewe ten volle kan geniet. Dit stel leerders in staat om te floreer op 'n tyd in hul lewe wanneer hulle groot spronge maak in hul akademiese-, fisiese- en emosionele ontwikkeling. Boarding is a happy and contented way of life for many of our learners. Huis Nieuwveld school hostel offers co-educational boarding from Grade 1 right through to Grade 12, with options for weekly & casual boarding which is situated in the safe suburb of old Hospital Hill. Our hostel has separate boys’ and girl' wings with spacious common rooms, game rooms and extensive grounds which provide the necessary break-out spaces for busy and active children. Facilities are provided for boarders to use to stimulate and entertain themselves during their “free” time. The front lawns are often well used for ball games by the learners, not forgetting the “plaas dam” which under supervision, is thoroughly utilized by the boarders on hot days to swim in. An experienced and dedicated team of boarding staff creates a warm and caring atmosphere across our hostel, offering around the clock support to ensure the learners feel right at home and providing welcomed support to all the boarders especially during study times. Each room has been structured in such a way that it offers our boarders a comfortable home-away-from-home where they can feel a sense of belonging, make friends and enjoy their school years fully immersed in boarding life. This enables learners to flourish at a time in their life when they are making great leaps in their academic, physical and emotional development.
