Catmouflage :-)
This typical Victorian colonial style house offers independence and privacy to its guests, without losing the feel and soul of a private home.

You think South Africa's highlights canât be done in 60 seconds? Youâre damn right. But we tried it anyway. The diversity of the country, the stunning landscapes, animals and vibrant cities gave us a hard time to choose though. Enjoy!

It went all too fast? You want the details? No problem.
Here are our recommendations in order of appearance:
0:05 Cape Point
Cape Point is everyoneâs idea of a picture postcard. The dramatic cliff rises hundreds of meters into the sky straight from the sea. Take the time to walk all the way to the front of the peninsula to get the best view over the Cape of Good Hope and the old Lighthouse.
0:08 Vilakazi Street
This is the only street in the world with two Nobel Peace Prizes: Nelson Mandela and Desmond Tutu lived here in the heart of Soweto. Today Vilakazi Street is less a local experience but still a must do when youâre in Johannesburg.
0:10 Johannesburg, Gauteng
For a long time Johannesburg has just been a city in Africa with very infamous crime rates. Trust us: This is not longer the case. Joâburg is on the rise and booming. Quarters like Newtown, Johannesburg or Maboneng are not only perfectly safe but also a thrilling experience.
0:13 Orlando Towers, Soweto
A lot of visitors think that Soweto belongs to Johannesburg â ask someone from Soweto and theyâll strictly deny that. Biking and walking tours are popular and recommended. We did our tour with Lebo's Soweto Backpackers
0:15 The Maboneng Precinct
Youâre into street art? You adore your fixie bike and your triple chai fly macchiato mocca? Drop by Maboneng, the hippest place in South Africa.
0:17 Soweto Derby
The SA Soccer League is dominated by two teams: The Orlando Pirates Football Club and the Kaizer Chiefs . Funny enough both teams are Soweto based which leads to interesting paintings on certain houses.
0:21 Addo Elephant National Park
This park is the only place in the world where you can see the Big 7 - which means lion, rhino, buffalo, leopard, elephant â plus whales and the great white shark. Youâll have trouble spotting all of them but you will still be amazed by the huge elephant herds in the park.
0:25 Bloukrans Bridge
Youâre into adrenalin? Then stop at the Bloukrans Bridge and jump with Face Adrenalin a whopping 216 meters into the gorge.
0:28 Helicopter ride
You have to see beautiful Cape Town from above. Helicopter rides are quite affordable and we highly recommend doing it. Some tours even go around the cape â even better! Our tour operator: NAC Helicopters Cape Town
0:33 Robben Island
You canât go to South Africa without knowing about its apartheid history. Robben Island, the Alcatraz of Cape Town, held thousands of political prisoners â including of course Nelson Mandela. Tickets are hard to get. So book your trip well in advance.
0:36 Bo-Kaap
The most colourful part of Cape Town is home to an interesting mix of muslim-dutch inhabitants.
0:38 Garden Route
A 400km dramatic coastline between Cape Town and Port Elizabeth. Knysna Heads is just one of the stops that you have to do on the way.
0:42 East Head Cafe - Knysna Heads
This small café with a brilliant view on the Knysna Heads is our personal lunch recommendation for a lunch stop in Knysna.
0:44 Winelands
It is impossible to buy bad wine in South Africa. And you have to visit at least one winery and do a proper tasting. The winery of Viljoensdrift even offers tastings on a relaxing boat trip, Delaire Graff Estate has unique accommodation and the atmosphere at Springfield Estate just blew our minds.
0:50 Nature's Valley, South Africa
One of those places that you hardly find along the road. On our tour we stopped at a beautiful beach right at the river mouth of the Grootrivier. We did not meet anyone there. Which was perfect.
0:53 Noetzie, Western Cape, South Africa
Yes, it is hard to get there. But the dramatic rock formations are totally worth the exhausting walk down to Noetzie Beach (and back up again).
0:54 Muizenberg
Youâre into surfing and beach life? Then youâll love the relaxed vibe along the ocean boulevard of Muizenberg. And the colourful Edwardian Beach Houses are quite instagrammy.
0:58 Table Mountain
This 1000 meter high mountain right above the city centre of Cape Town is part of the New Seven Wonders of the World â and we have no idea why it hasnât been one before. You can walk up here, but we highly recommend taking the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway. Safe your stamina for the Lionâs Head.
1:00 Boulders Beach
Yes, there are penguins in Africa. And theyâre awesome. Boulders Beach is a colony where you can even swim with the cutest birds alive â if you pay at the entrance.
1:01 Camp Figtree
âŠis our idea of a stunning lodge that canât be found anywhere else on the planet. Places like Figtree are luxurious dreams hidden in the middle of nowhere. The other lodge worth mentioning was Tsala Treetop Lodge, as seen at 0:29
1:03 Cape of Good Hope
Well, you hopefully get there eventually. Though cueing up for a photo behind the famous signboard spoils the romantic a bit. Do it anyway. Youâre already there soâŠ

The worst drought in over a century continues to plague Cape Town, South Africa. The city & suburbs effectively have only 11% usable water left within its reservoirs leaving residents "waiting on a miracle." Today on CNN, I covered the latest drought & dam level information for The Mother City and described the elements behind the crisis, while weighing in on what's to come. This is not a short term phenomenon, it is a long term problem. Water conservation starts with you.

The first few months of 2017 have been both exhilarating and concerning for many South Africans. We have witnessed some great moments and some terrifying ones. I tend to expose the hard truths of reality sometimes, and even though it may be for a good cause - It's not always easy on the eyes and heart.
So, I took my first flight yesterday morning and came up with something a bit more soothing for a change. Without forgetting the challenges we face as a nation today, tomorrow and for years to come, I wanted to show something light, to remind us that we share this world with so many, and it is absolutely beautiful.

Tens of Thousands of South Africans took to the streets today (07/04/17), calling for their current President Jacob Zuma to step down. Cape Town saw approximately 50 000 people flood the streets outside parliament (Possibly making it the biggest protest since 1994**) with national flags, thought provoking signs and cheering adults & children. It was a magnificent sight to see people stand in solidarity so passionately.
It is even more beautiful to think that this could be the start of a new revolution in South Africa, where people have begun the process to understand the complexities within South Africaâs multi-dimensional socio-economic sphere, and move toward a better future for all.
Most importantly, I think South Africans should take more time moving forward to listen & understand each other. Every day we cross paths with individuals who come from a completely different reality, for better or worse - Yet we seldom engage and try to understand each others behaviors.
If you live in impoverished conditions and have an encounter with someone from an upper or middle class, talk to them - Share your experiences on how you live, what you eat, how you struggle⊠Share your thoughts on the reasoning for the countries dire situations and how you perceive those that live better than you.
And if you come from a more privileged background - talk to those less fortunate than you.. Explain your living circumstances and what you have experienced growing up⊠How you were able to excel and fail and how this has affected your life and those around you⊠Share your beliefs and why you think we experience the hardships faced in South Africa today.
Once we begin talking to each other, we open up endless possibilities of finding solutions to the many issues we face as a society today.
Once we begin talking to each other, we realize we are not so different after all.
