🐋 ISN’T IT WONDERFUL TO WAKE UP TO THIS?

Just imagine looking out from your balcony and seeing these magnificent whales in the bay. You don’t have to go anywhere — they’re right there, just beyond your doorstep, putting on a show for you. 🐋🤍

Seeing Southern Right whales this close to shore is such a special experience, and honestly, something we should feel very lucky to witness.

Here in Franskraal, we get to enjoy this beautiful spectacle during whale season. Watch as the whales breach, blow, splash and play in the bay — and if you’re really fortunate, you may even spot a mother and her calf travelling together.

There’s no rushing, no crowds and no need to pack up the car and go looking for them. Just sit back, take it all in, and appreciate the incredible sight unfolding right in front of you.

Whale season generally runs from July through November, when Southern Right whales return to the sheltered bays along the Cape coast to mate and calve.
