Mother Nature blessed us with the rain that is helping our vines to recover for next year. However, all the water over the last few days has caused some damage to our trails. As such we will be closing our trails until Saturday (July 18th) so we can make the necessary repairs. We look forward to seeing you over the weekend!

Big News for all Meerendal Visitors and Trail users.
Exciting news first, our hotel, conferencing and trails will be reopening tomorrow!! :D
As of tomorrow (July 1st) some changes have been made to the Estate's usage, we kindly ask visitors to respect these changes and adhere to the signs. These include changes to opening times, trails and zones accessible to the public. This is to provide privacy for hotel guests and permanent residence on the Estate.

Good news regarding the Meerendal trails:
1. We are looking forward to welcoming you back at Meerendal Wine Estate.
2. Running and cycling trails will re-open on the 1st of July.
3. The trails are under repair, have been revised and new signs posted to allow for the privacy of our permanent residence and hotel guests on the Estate.
4. In future the start and finish of all trails will be at the security gate.
5. All main roads inside the Estate are now pedestrianized and are 'No Bike Zones'.
6. A designated zone for bikes will be available at the security gate inside the Estate. This is in full view of the security staff and cameras. Cyclists who wish to visit the Estate for coffee, lunch, etc are kindly requested to leave their bikes in these zones.
7. We encourage cyclist to bring bike locks. Although we take reasonable efforts for your bike safety, bikes are left at your own risk.
8. OPENING HOURS - Sunrise to 17h00 (Closed on Mondays).
We appreciate your cooperation regarding the above amendments and look forward to your return.

The extraordinary wine was created through a collaboration between Meerendal’s Cellar Master Liza Goodwin and Italian Maestro Dr. Stefano Contini. The grapes for the Intensio were harvested early morning on 30 March 2015 in small bins, it was then brought to the cellar where it was hung on nets in a controlled environment to further “rasinate”. This intensifies the colour, flavours and sugar levels in the grapes, which ultimately reflects in the final product – the wine. Intensio is an off dry wine that shows a vibrancy and freshness although very powerful and full bodied. The intense tannins and extract seamlessly integrate with the delicate fruit. The oak is not too overt, although the wine spend 15 months in barrels. The wine is best enjoyed with a hearty stew or a well-aged hard cheese. So this morning we came to your restaurant for a birthday breakfast.We arrived roughly 930 ordered our drinks which took about 20 min to arrive.Once the drinks arrived we decided to order our food.That was about 10 am 12 pm we were still sitting waiting for our breakfast.Tables around us have received there food and left and we were still waiting.Eventually I was so gatvol I asked the waiter only to find out our order wasnt even placed and it was getting close to lunch time. In the first place we couldn't order lunch items but the way the service was today I should ordered supper as that's how pathetic the service was today.i strongly think I wouldnt ever come back there and would advise friends and family aswell.The thing Is what are u going to do about it....
