A quiet weekend in the forest has opened up at Bush Camp this September.

18 to 20 September

Tucked into its own riverside pocket of the Magaliesburg valley, Bush Camp is four treehouses and four cabin rooms among the trees, a fire boma for slow evenings, and a fire hot tub under the trees. It's the kind of place a group comes to gather, cook together, and properly unwind. We've reduced the minimum group size, so smaller groups can settle in here too. Kept peaceful on purpose, no noisy gatherings.

Every cabin has its own way onto the trail, headed the same direction as everyone who's walked it before you.

Not far in, you'll pass a set of carved figures we've never quite explained properly. Half hidden in the trees. There for you to find.

Sky Pool comes next, calm enough most mornings that you'll want the bench beside it for longer than you planned.

The path follows the river from there, over a run of small waterfalls, past a cluster of rock cairns added to by anyone who's stopped there. One stone, quietly, on your way past.

Near the top, a second rock pool, quieter still, before the final climb to the lookout, where the whole valley opens up below you.

Fifteen, twenty minutes on foot. No signal, no schedule. Explore.

Some getaways are just a change of scenery. The K**a Cabin is something else entirely.

Tucked into a secluded ridge just below the rise of the valley, it was designed for two people who want to properly disappear together. An outdoor bath looking up at the mountains. A fire pit under the stars. A daybed facing the valley.

No other guests in sight. No reason to leave in a hurry.

Nothing at Sima Kade was brought in that didn't need to be. The stone walls, the wooden beams, the pathways beneath your feet, all of it was sourced from the valley itself. This is what it looks like when a building doesn't fight its surroundings, but grows out of them.

The timber you see throughout Sima Kade was harvested responsibly from the land around it. The result is buildings that feel like they belong here, because in every sense, they do.

These aren't decorative stones brought in from somewhere else. They're the same red Magaliesberg rock that lines the cliffs above the valley, stacked and shaped into walls, pathways, and spaces that have been standing ever since.

The stone pathways that connect every space at Sima Kade were laid by the same hands that built the cabins. Each one was placed with the intention of letting the valley guide the way, rather than the other way around.

That's the point, really. When you build with what the land gives you, you don't end up with a structure in a valley. You end up with a valley that happens to have somewhere to sleep in it.

- Repurposed grain silosā€™ turned into bedroom pods with two beds ( bunk bed style) in each. Shared bathrooms are separate. A glamping experience unique to Sima Kade

Stone tower retreat package:

-Tall rock structures perched on the slope with large glass windows, a butterfly roof and lovely views. Each of the towers have two beds and an ensuite bathroom.

Catering:
A full and delicious vegetarian menu is included, along with beverages and snacks.

Our chef, Melissa is an expert in vegetarian cuisine, with a wide range of signature dishes and fresh ingredients that guest have come to know and love. Vegan options are also available upon request.
