Friends,
Today is World Su***de Prevention Day — a day to remember those we have lost to su***de, to stand alongside the families and friends who continue to carry that grief, and to remind those who are struggling that they do not have to walk through the darkness alone.
This year’s theme is “Changing the Narrative on Su***de,” with the call to action: “Start the Conversation.” Sometimes the most important thing we can do is simply be willing to ask, “How are you really doing?” and then have the courage to listen. We can create spaces where people feel safe enough to speak honestly about their pain, their anxiety, their depression, their loneliness and their struggles — without shame or fear of being judged.
Tonight at 7 pm, there is a call to light a candle in remembrance of those who have taken their own lives. As we do, let us also remember the families, friends and communities who are left behind, often carrying questions, grief and pain that can be difficult to put into words.
And if you are struggling today, please hear this: you are not alone, and your life matters. Reaching out is not a sign of weakness. Please speak to someone you trust — a friend, your small group leader, your pastor, or someone in your church. You don't have to have the right words; simply starting the conversation is enough.

As the church, may we be people who notice, listen, make space, walk alongside one another and carry hope into places of deep pain. May we never underestimate the power of a conversation, a phone call, a prayer, a listening ear, or simply saying, “I’m here. You don’t have to face this alone.”
Tonight, as we light a candle, may it be a small sign of remembrance, compassion and hope. 🕯️
