Where Christmas Feels Slower

No crowds.
No schedules.
No pretending.

Just open land, crackling fires, dust on your boots, and the kind of quiet you only hear when the world finally slows down.

Christmas at Welgegund isn’t about perfection -
it’s about early mornings, long shadows, shared meals, and time that actually feels like time again
However you spend today, we hope it’s honest, unhurried, and exactly what you need.

The Day of Reconciliation reminds us to slow down, listen, and reconnect - with each other, and with the land we share.

🔥🌾 At Welgegund, nature creates the space for quiet moments, meaningful conversations, and shared experiences around a fire or under open skies.

Today we reflect, reconnect, and move forward - together.

Meet the real Springbok — fast, agile, and proudly South African! 🦌🇿🇦

Just like our world-champion rugby team, these antelope are built for power and speed, showing off with their famous “pronking” jumps across the veld.

And the best part?
At Welgegund, you can enjoy watching Springbok with far less screaming than a rugby match — just peaceful bush, open skies, and pure wildlife magic. 🌿✨

Spot them at sunrise or sunset on the open plains of Welgegund.
