Since offering the garden studio cottages separately from the main house, there’s been a surge in bookings for these. Very interesting! It would appear there’s big interest in small, simple but well-equipped spaces for couples and singles. We’ll be observing this trend closely.

It’s been a long and wearying road through covid times, with many exciting European bookings cancelled along the way, though the domestic market was wonderful and certainly played a big part in keeping us going. Thank you!

Self-catering accommodation right next to South Africa’s Kruger Park

Who are we?

This lovely home in a quiet suburb of Phalaborwa has been in the family for many years and was the comfortable abode of our beloved Uncle Jumbo. When Uncle Jumbo passed on, we did some soul searching and came to the conclusion that we’d like to see the house enjoy the happy days and camaraderie of years gone by long into the future. With tender love and care, lots of elbow grease and none too little expense, we have kitted it out with all the modern conveniences and good things that make life comfortable and now welcome guests from around the world to experience the beauty of the South African Lowveld from a “home-from-home” perspective. We love to hear the sound of laughter and merriment and see the satisfaction on our guests faces as they tell of their encounters in the Kruger Park or any of the other world class private game reserves in the vicinity.

The business is run from South Africa by Clint and Tara Scott and from Switzerland by Ronnie and Jackie van der Weide. Our goal is to provide our guests with a value-for-money, home-from-home holiday that they’ll talk about for years to come.
