Welcome to Thaba N’gala

Set within Grietjie Private Nature Reserve, part of Balule Nature Reserve in the Greater Kruger ecosystem, Thaba N’gala is a private safari home created for travellers who value space, stillness, and authenticity.

This is not a traditional safari lodge.
It is a place to arrive, settle, and belong.

Days unfold at an unhurried pace: quiet mornings on an exclusive viewing deck overlooking a natural waterhole, time spent in an elevated, private viewing hide ideal for observing wildlife passing by, and guided Big Five safaris that explore an open, unfenced landscape where wildlife moves freely.

Evenings are shaped by wide skies, the presence of Grietjie Berg on the horizon, and the natural rhythm of the bushveld.

Hosting only a limited number of guests, Thaba N’gala offers privacy, personal hosting, and an immersive connection to place.

An on-site indigenous plant nursery further grounds the experience, offering a deeper relationship with the landscape beyond wildlife alone.
