Wow! We really are getting our fair share of water 💦 The volume of water has created our very own river that is now gushing through the forest. Walking paths are obviously closed for safety purposes, but we thought we would show you that, whilst this extreme weather is having very dire consequences for the trees (falling), it really is also quite beautiful 🍃

The clean up continues. Slow and steady will need to win this race. It’s a lot! But we are making small progress 🍃 Today it feels like a portion of the forest “opened” again. It was definitely a good day!

The belief that just starting somewhere will encourage momentum to keep going. We have made a start with the clean up after the Big Storm and already things are returning to gorgeous. New views. Altered landscape. But just as beautiful🍃

As we enjoy a small lull from Mothers Nature’s weather onslaught after a wild three days of lashing storms with outrageous amounts of rain (currently the Lodge has received 250mm of rain), we are reminded of an even greater event today: Sir David Attenborough’s 100th birthday!

We wish this gem of a human being a very Happy Birthday. From us to you: Your voice has echoed through ancient forests, oceans, and wild places, teaching generations to cherish the natural world. May the sounds of every birdsong, towering trees and quiet beauty surrounding us today reflect the gratitude felt across the globe for your century of wonder, wisdom, and unwavering love for nature.

Our little Stone Cottage is basking in the morning sun. A stillness has fallen after a lovely busy week of guests. Long weekends may be on hold for a while, but the mid year break is just around the corner. With so many outstanding Winter events to look forward to, best not delay those plans ~ BOOK NOW.
