🦈 PLETT SHARK SPOTTERS ARE BACK ON DUTY!
Following receipt of our signed Memorandum of Agreement with Bitou Municipality on 5 October 2026, we are very happy to announce that Plett Shark Spotters is officially back on duty!
OCTOBER OPERATIONS
📍 Central Beach & The Wreck
🕒 07:30 – 16:30 daily
From November through April, our aim is to operate across five beaches for the busy summer period, with the long-term goal of maintaining year-round shark spotting operations.
While municipal funding contributes towards the programme, staffing costs still need to be funded externally. Our ability to maintain and expand beach coverage depends on sponsorships, donations, partnerships and the continued support of our community.

Every contribution helps keep trained spotters on our beaches and supports local employment, shark safety, monitoring, research, education and conservation.
We are back, and now our goal is to build a sustainable programme that can keep watch over Plett’s beaches year-round. 🦈🌊
