Somerset West Golf Club is primarily a parkland course with 18 holes which has been split into 2 sections due to a railway line running through it. Although these divisions appear inconvenient, they actually add to the challenge as both sections have elements that challenge the golfer.

The popular Blaauwklippen Family Market only 14kms from Mooring House is open on Saturday and Sundays. This lovely weekly market is held at Blaauwklippen Wine Estate on the way to Stellenbosch. The market is predominantly a food market with various stalls flaunting tempting treats like strawberry, cream, and chocolate pancakes, samoosas, green smoothies, gourmet ice cream, pizza, burgers, and a variety of cheeses. In addition to the food, there are a few stalls with clothing, wooden decor, plants, and African arts and crafts. There is also live music to ensure a relaxing atmosphere. Children can enjoy pony rides, face painting, and a dedicated play area while parents spend a lazy Sunday pic nicing on the grassy lawns with food selected from the stalls and a glass of Blaauwklippen wine.

Not only does Lourensford Market have more than 70 vendors to choose from, but the setting is positively stunning. Located on the sprawling Lourensford Wine Estate in Somerset West, the market is surrounded by vineyards and mountains.
The live music and magical setting. On Sundays, local artists hit the stage but on Fridays, it's all about DJs and dancing. Grab a glass of bubbly and hit the dance.

Add the Cheetah Outreach Center in Somerset West "to your to do list." Here you can meet and greet some of their Ambassador Cats and experience a close encounter with those beautiful animals.

The main goal of the Cheetah Outreach is to promote the survival of the free-ranging, South African, cheetah. The world wide Cheetah population went down from an estimated 100,000 to currently 6,700 due to a shrinking habitat, dwindling of natural prey and the conflict with human activities. There are about 1,326 cheetahs in South Africa of which approximately 500 free ranging cheetah live on unprotected farm lands in the northern part of the country. 

In order to protect them, the Cheetah Trust is collecting donations and sponsors. So if you are looking for a unique experience AND do some good while doing it, the Cheetah Outreach is a perfect place to go.
