At approximately 00.30, this morning Jikelela Security members arrested one bravo male outside Fairbreeze hotel after he jumped out of a white Polo and attempted to steal a red BMW parked outside the hotel...suspect forced the car door open and was in possession of a gas gun...he was apprehended and handed over to SAPS.

At approx 16:00 this afternoon, four armed suspects entered Footgear near Shoprite,Tongaat and robbed the store of an undisclosed amount of cash and foot gear. The suspects forced the staff into a back room where they were locked up. Jikelela Security Tactical team responded to the panic signal and immediately responded to the store.Upon arrival, Jikelela Security officers stopped random people from looting the store and freed the trapped staff from the locked room. Suspects are believed to have fled on foot in the direction of the rank. The matter is being investigated by SAPS.

It is with a heavy heart that we inform the public that the valued member of our Jikelela Security team,Mervan Govender of Belvedere, was shot in the line of duty and sadly succumbed to his injury...our deepest condolences go out to his family and friends...he will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him..out of respect for his loved ones,we would appreciate if graphic photographs of the crime scene are not publicly posted🙏🏼

At 17:30 this evening, Jikelela security control room received a call of theft in progress at a Tongaat business premises on Walter Reid Rd. Jikelela Security's tactical units were dispatched immediately.
Upon their arrival , the tactical team were informed by Jikelela Security officers on site that workers at a roofing company were passing timber though a hole in a fence to other suspects in a bakkie parked outside the fence line along the sugar cane field.
2 suspects were arrested on site whilst 1 suspect fled the scene in the bakkie. After an extensive search, the bakkie containing approximately R10 000 worth of stolen goods was located and the suspects were handed over to Tongaat SAPS
