Enjoyed an amazing stay at Hillscapes. Joanne and Owen went out of their way to ensure that we have everything we need. Suburb hospitality! The property has beautiful views and luxurious rooms. With the limited time we had in Port Alfred, they definitely made our stay a memorable one.”

New Season For A Visit:
Part of the Kowie River runs more sea water into Kiddies Beach during high tide, which is ideal for small children and toddlers to not be bombarded with huge waves bowling them over, face planting them into the sand. The low tide can be very soothing too.
This is safer bathing for adults also, at least you can be reassured there are no overpowering waves that can take you into riptides with a possibility of drowning and even losing your dentures which is a realistic possibility!!
Kiddies Beach offer the following rental options – Canoeing, Duneboarding and Sandboarding, of course there is the usual bring a picnic to the beach and enjoy a leisure day playing in the sand, and water lapping at the edges of the beach.
There is East Beach and West Beach which have lovely waves for surfers, however, do not wander too deep as this can be very dangerous, also best to check that there are lifeguards on duty before venturing in.
Other beaches in this area are Kelly’s Beach, Kasouga Beach and the Mpekweni river mouth.
There are also camping facilities available at Medolino Caravan Park, which won 4 stars for the top rated – clean, tidy, and neat facilities that they have, including the ablutions. They also offer paintball as an activity to be enjoyed by the non-faint hearted.
Other lovely activities that can be enjoyed in Port Alfred is going deep sea fishing, horse riding, and these can be booked at Outdoor Focus, including the abovementioned activities.
You can enjoy a leisurely boat trip up the river, there are a few options available, even enjoying sundowners whilst going up the river on a pontoon, which is cool and calm.
And of course, remember your camera for those holiday moments that you don’t want to miss and to bring back memories after you get home.
