Good day to all our valued Laba Dam visitors.
Please take note that, with immediate effect, the entrance fees have been adjusted as follows:
• Adults: R100 per person
• Pensioners: R50 per person
• Children (5–17 years): R40 per child
We appreciate your understanding and continued support. These fees help us maintain and improve the facilities for the enjoyment of all visitors.

Fires to be made only in demarcated area's

Dear Valued LABA Dam Visitors,
As we enter the winter season, we kindly request all visitors to exercise extreme caution when making fires at any of the LABA Dams.
Please ensure that all fires are completely extinguished before leaving the area after your visit. Safety remains our highest priority, and open fires can pose a serious danger not only to people, but also to wildlife and our beautiful natural environment.
We ask everyone to work together in protecting our dams, nature, and surrounding areas from unnecessary fire hazards.

As most of you are already aware, from 1 May 2025, all cash payments were discontinued. Moving forward, only card payments and electronic payment methods will be accepted at LABA Dams.
This change has been implemented to improve safety, convenience, and payment efficiency for all customers and staff.

Dear Fishing Friends and Visitors,
We would like to share some exciting and encouraging information about the fishing experience at Klipkopje Dam, especially for those who enjoy the challenge of carp fishing.
Over the past three years, careful tracking has shown just how healthy and thriving the carp population is. A total of 124 carp have been caught, with only one fish being caught twice during this period. This clearly shows that the dam holds a large and diverse carp population. Even more interesting is that all of these catches were made while fishing only in spots 1 to 8, which means there is still plenty of unexplored potential in other areas of the dam.
Although the carp population is strong, they remain a rewarding challenge to catch — something that makes fishing here even more exciting and satisfying.
For those looking to improve their chances, here are a few helpful tips:
Fishing with a float set at about 2 meters deep in open water can be very effective. Allow the float to drift naturally with the wind — following the wind direction often leads to great results and can surprise you with how many carp you hook.
Fishing at around 2 meters below the surface tends to produce a good number of smaller carp, with the added possibility of landing some impressive larger specimens.
Bait choice also plays an important role. Many anglers have had success using red fake maize combined with a sweet, fruity flavour, as well as tigernuts.
Klipkopje Dam has also proven its ability to produce truly remarkable fish. Two years ago, a carp weighing 22.3kg was caught, and earlier this year in January, that same fish was recaptured at an incredible 24kg — a true testament to the dam’s quality and growth potential.
We encourage all anglers to share their catches, experiences, and tips so that we can continue building a strong and supportive fishing community. Every story adds to the enjoyment and knowledge of fishing at our beautiful dam.

Hi all Laba members.
Here’s a quick update on some of the weekend activities at Klipkopje Dam and Primkop Dam.
At Primkop Dam, some guests caught beautiful fish, and at Klipkopje Dam we had a great Jeep Wranglers Day.
