Exciting strides in community broadcasting!

The Broadcasting Authority of Zimbabwe (BAZ) recently conducted a Community Radio Station Sensitisation Programme across Buhera, Bikita, and Zaka, engaging local communities on the importance and opportunities of community radio.

The initiative comes as BAZ intensifies its drive to license 18 more community radio stations, a move aimed at empowering communities with platforms that amplify local voices, promote development, and preserve cultural heritage.

What stood out most was the overwhelming interest and enthusiasm from community members, who are eager to establish and run these development-oriented communication hubs. This strong response reflects the growing recognition of community radio as a vital tool for inclusive participation, information sharing, and grassroots development.

Together, we are building stronger, more connected communities through the power of local broadcasting.
