مرحبا بكم في مخيم الخيمة
The Al Khayma Camp is designed to bring you back in the past to the traditional Bedouin life: Learn more about the importance of falcons and falconry at the camp, enjoy a camel ride with camel feeding, spend time learning about the unique Arabic coffee preparation techniques, enjoy an amazing henna tattoo, wear traditional Bedouin clothing, and much more:
Upon arriving at the Al Khayma Camp, we are happy to greet you with a warm "Ahlan Wa Sahlan'', meaning "Welcome". At the entrance to the Al Khayma Camp you will spot majestic copper goblets spreading Bukhoor, the beautiful-smelling Arabic incense that comes from burning oud over hot coals. Passing it from one host to another is a traditional gesture, and it is said to be as important as serving coffee.
Arabic coffee pronounced ‘Gahwa’ in the Emirati Arabic dialect has been a central part of Arab culture for centuries and its preparation and serving is marked by elaborate traditions. You are welcome to see and learn more about these traditions that not only reflect the cultural importance of the Arabic coffee, but also reflect the Emirati and Bedouin hospitality. Enjoy your gahwa with traditional Bedouin sweets, gaymat, and dates.
Don't miss on regag, the traditional Emirati homemade bread & luqaimat, Emirati doughnuts, hot and soft bites of sweetness. You are very much welcome to them not only once. They are freshly made and available for you through the whole time of your stay at the Al Khayma Camp.
Al Khayma Camp is a hidden gem offering Michelin Bib Gourmand-awarded cuisine in different varieties: Emirati, Arabian, as well as Moroccan with vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes available as well.
