Our Story

The land was bought during the dictatorial period of 1970 from our grandparents Dimo & Areti that invested all their passion and love to build a lovely bungalow for their descendants. Few years later the property was donated the older son Nikola as a wedding present. The first innovation of the property started during 1986 few months before Nikola & Anthoula had their first child Areti. With the failure of dictate during 90’s the family moved for few years in Greece while the house was used as summer accommodation. Few months before losing our beloved grandmother, Nikola & Anthoula decided to return to Himara but now with a new family member Dimitris. The second renovation started during 1997 few months before the civil war of Albania began. The innovation took place in several chronological periods. Sunset guest house is a long-term life project that Nikola & Anthoula decided to invest all their life savings and their architectural skills as the property is a complete handmade project. As a beginning was reconstructed the front part of the property 1997-2004 then followed the back site during 2006 – 2009 and during 2009 was build the downstairs area. Every year Nikola & Anthoula upgrade Sunset Guest House with love and adjust it to the seasonal requirements.
