The water fountain in Vardanians’ Park is one of the park’s main attractions. The fountain complex contains thousands of water jets arranged around a map of Yerevan and decorative bronze sculptures. The park was created as part of the celebration of Yerevan’s 2800th anniversary and was financed by the Vardanyan family.

A notable feature is the recently upgraded musical and dancing fountain show at Fountains of Vardanyans’ Park. During summer evenings, the fountains perform synchronized water, light, and music displays using 59 programmable jets, with the tallest streams reaching about 15 meters. Shows typically begin around 9:30 PM and are free to watch.

Location: Italy Street, central Yerevan, between Mashtots Avenue and Saryan Street.

Etchmiadzin Cathedral (Ejmiatsin Cathedral) is the mother church of the Armenian Apostolic Church and one of the world’s oldest Christian cathedrals.

* 📍 Located in Vagharshapat, about 20 km west of Yerevan.
* Founded in 301–303 AD by Saint Gregory the Illuminator after Armenia adopted Christianity as its state religion.
* It serves as the seat of the Catholicos of All Armenians, the head of the Armenian Apostolic Church.
* The name “Etchmiadzin” means “The Descent of the Only-Begotten”, referring to a vision in which Christ indicated where the cathedral should be built.
* The cathedral is part of the UNESCO-listed Cathedral and Churches of Echmiatsin and the Archaeological Site of Zvartnots.

* Saint Gayane Church
* Zvartnots Cathedral

It is one of Armenia’s most important religious and cultural landmarks and a popular day trip from Yerevan.

The Mother Armenia monument (Armenian: Mayr Hayastan) is one of the most famous landmarks in Yerevan. It stands in Victory Park, overlooking the city and symbolizing the strength, protection, and resilience of the Armenian people.

Key facts:

* Sculptor: Ara Harutyunyan
* Installed: 1967
* Statue height: 22 meters
* Total height with pedestal: 51 meters
* Material: Hammered copper statue on a stone pedestal.

The monument replaced a large statue of Joseph Stalin that stood on the same pedestal from 1950 until 1962.

Inside the pedestal is the Mother Armenia Military Museum, which contains exhibits related to Armenia’s military history and World War II.

From the monument area, you can enjoy one of the best panoramic views of Yerevan and, on clear days, the majestic Mount Ararat.
