Recoleta no nació como barrio.

En 1716, los frailes recoletos construyeron la Iglesia del Pilar. Después, la fiebre amarilla cambió la ciudad. Las familias más influyentes buscaron aire, altura y distancia. Se instalaron acá. Llegaron con sus costumbres. Con sus idiomas. Con sus arquitectos. Así surgieron châteaux y petits hôtels, con mármoles y vitrales traídos de Europa.

El barrio conserva todo eso. MIO está en el centro.

Recoleta was not born as a neighborhood.

In 1716, Recollect friars built the Church of Pilar. Then, yellow fever reshaped the city. The most influential families sought air, elevation, and distance. They chose this place. They arrived with their customs. Their languages. Their architects.
Châteaux and petits hôtels followed, with marble and stained glass brought from Europe.

That legacy remains. MIO is part of it.
