Estancia Los Potreros Estancia Los Potreros is set in a beautiful reserve at the top of the Cordoba hills in the center of Argentina.

Located in the Sierras Chicas of Córdoba, Estancia Los Potreros is a historic working ranch offering world-class horseback riding holidays, warm hospitality, and a deep connection to Argentine culture and countryside life. The estancia dates from 1574 when breeding mules for the silver mines in Peru was the principal activity. Today it is an idyllic retreat for horsemen and nature lovers. This organic working farm breeds Aberdeen-Angus cattle and Paso Peruano horses. It has been in the same Anglo Argentine family for four generations and sets the highest standards of accommodation, combining the pleasures of estancia life with exceptional riding. Home rides, long-distance pack trips, polo, assisting the gauchos with horses or simply relaxing by the pool are some of the many activities. Sometimes the best thing we can do is step back.

Let the land manage itself, let the grasses grow, and give nature the space to recover in its own time. By limiting the use of cutters and heavy intervention, the ecosystem has a chance to rebalance - bringing back insects, birdlife, and all the small details that make a landscape truly alive.

It’s not about neglect, it’s about trust. Trusting that with the right conditions, the land knows exactly what to do.

Out here, it’s a slower, more considered approach.

Cattle moving steadily across open pasture, guided by horses instead of machines. Grass left to grow and reseed, fields given time to breathe, and wildlife returning as part of the system.

It’s about balance - producing what we need while protecting what makes this landscape alive.
