Our little big mountain life. Full of wilderness. Cozy corners, and spaciousness. For all.

Refreshing late summer days. High up in the National Park. Little legs on big adventures. A picnic by a mountain stream, feet in the fresh water, plenty of space to play and explore. Glittery golden stones all around.

Back home for a jause & cake, a nap, some splash time in the pool, maybe a game of UNO with the grandparents. Kids finding new friends around the house while the grown-ups find a little time for themselves. Schnitzel Sundays for the win!

Time together, time apart, and plenty of stories to bring back to the dinner table.

Family holidays, beautifully and simply shared with you and yours.

One last weekend of a summer filled with art.

Art woven into daily yoga and mindful sessions with works by Nives Widauer as our quiet companions. Art we walked past all over the village every day. Art that made us stop and look a little closer. Art that became part of conversations, breakfasts, long afternoons and our little big mountain life.

This weekend marks the closing of sommer.frische.kunst. art:badgastein, with art still on view until tomorrow, August 30th, at our Radon Pavillon, Hotel Miramonte | Bad Gastein and Kraftwerk.

A beautiful summer of bringing contemporary art into unexpected places all across Bad Gastein ~ and into our everyday lives.

Oooh - the first little hints of golden autumn are slowly making their way into the mountains.

Cooler mornings. Fresh mountain air. All day hikes. And up here at 1,100m, the sun still warm and strong on our faces.

Back home at Haus Hirt: warm water, deep exhale. 
A swim. Sauna steam. Healing baths. Slow treatments. A little time to simply be.

Late summer slowly turning golden. Adventure outside, warmth inside.  
Our favourite time of year is just beginning.

Summer, in all its many magic moods.

Bright sunlit mornings. Clouds rolling through the valley. Mountain air after a summer rain. Long days outside. Cool dips. Wildflower meadows. Big skies. Abundant trails. Windows open at night.

The last week has brought a little fresh mountain wind back into our days ~ and with it, the first tiny hint of what comes next: our favourite season 🍁🍂

Autumn in the mountains. Clearer air. Quieter trails. Mountains changing colours. Long hikes, warm saunas & cozying up in our little big Alpine Spa.

And we’ll be right here, sharing it all with you until November.

There’s giggles and laughter around the breakfast tables. Kids running around, little ones crawling about. Days spent somewhere up the mountains. Maybe a game of cards with grandpa after his afternoon nap. Long family dinners. New friendships & plenty of life all around.

And then there’s the quieter and softer side of staying at Haus Hirt.

For centuries, Bad Gastein’s waterfall has been rushing through the heart of our little big mountain village. Stirring up ideas. Shaping the landscape. Filling the air with mist. Drawing artists, architects, thinkers, dreamers & doers into its orbit.

Always moving. Always transforming.

This year’s sommer.frische.kunst. art:badgastein theme: Between Waters.

A reflection on everything that flows. Through landscapes. Through time. Through ideas. Through us.

And while summer is slowly beginning to soften, the art is still very much here.

Until August 30, wander through Bad Gastein and discover this year’s artist residency exhibitions at Kraftwerk, Nives Widauer at Radon Pavillon, in public spaces throughout the village — and at Hotel Miramonte | Bad Gastein, where Claudio Limon’s monumental intervention in collaboration with STRAAT has become part of the house itself.

Come for the art.

High summer nights, with our eyes to the sky.

This week was pretty much all our most magical summer dreams come true: Soft summer temperatures. The sun slowly disappearing behind the moon. Golden light over the mountains. And nights filled with shooting stars that kept us out on the balconies way past bedtime.

A little more stargazing. A little less sleeping. And we’re so here for it. 💫
