FRANZ ferdinand Mountain Resort Nassfeld – Die Geschichte

Im Gailtal der 50er-Jahre wachsen zwei Lausbuben auf - Franz und Ferdinand. Ihr einstündiger Fußmarsch zur Schule und wieder nach Hause ist jeden Tag auf’s neue ein Abenteuer. Der Bach, der am Weg entlang läuft, jedes Tier, das sie zu Augen bekommen, jeder Baum, der zum Klettern einlädt - so viel gibt es zu entdecken. Nach Hausaufgaben un

d Mithilfe am Bauernhof geht’s wieder raus in die Natur, bis die beiden der Hunger im Finstern nach Hause treibt. Heute sind die beiden längst über 60:
Franz wollte Skifahrer werden, eine Verletzung verhinderte allerdings den Sprung ganz an die Spitze. Dem Sport und seiner Heimat blieb er treu, baute ein erfolgreiches Beratungsunternehmen auf und ist noch heute so oft es geht draußen- am Berg, auf der Piste, in der Kletterwand. Damals wie heute lautet sein Motto „ganz oder gar nicht“. Ferdinands leben verlief konträr: als Einziger der Familie studierte er, machte seine Reiselust zum Beruf und arbeitete als Journalist, entdeckte die große, weite Welt. Heute lebt er in Wien und schreibt Reisebücher – mit viel Lebenserfahrung und dem Gespür für das Schöne. In den letzten Jahren reifte die Idee von einem Lebensprojekt in den beiden Lausbuben von damals – ein urbanes Lifestyle-Hotel zu Hause. Modernes Design und in der Natur, sportnah und mit Entspannung. Aus zwei Türmen soll es bestehen. Der eine gehört Franz: mit Österreichs größter Kletterwand in einem Hotel, Boulderwand, einem riesigen Kinderspielplatz und der Lobby direkt beim Eingang als Begegnungsraum – ein Turm als Abenteuerzone. Der andere gehört Ferdinand: mit gemütlicher Lounge, Restaurant- und Genussbereich, Knotz-Zone und großem Kaminfeuer – ein Turm als Wohlfühloase. Dazu bekommt jedes Zimmer einen eigenen Vorraum für Sportequipment, und eine Sauna mit Pep – eine Disco-Sauna mit Songs von ABBA und Co – gibt’s auch. Ein Lebensprojekt das Wirklichkeit wurde: im Dezember 2017 eröffnete das FRANZ ferdinand Mountain Resort Nassfeld – ein urbaner Anker für Abenteuerlustige, Sportaktive und die ganze Familie.
