Haus Gilbert is an apartment house with three apartments for rent in Mühlbach am Hochkönig, Austri Haus Gilbert is the residence of Simon and Karlaine.

The property is set three minutes walk from the centre of the lovely village of Mühlbach am Hochkönig. There are three apartments for rent and Haus Gilbert is open during the winter and summer seasons. Each apartment sleeps from 1-5 people and has a kitchen/ living room, a bathroom, a large double bedroom and each apartment has its own balcony with a superb mountain view. Bookings are being taken

for the summer and winter seasons. The village is a great summer base for outdoor activities including rock climbing, mountain and road biking and hiking/ walking. The area has a large number of tourist treats being located in the Austrian Alps only 45 - 50 minutes drive from the beautiful city of Salzburg (where the nearest airport is to be found). Fans of the film 'The Sound of Music' will be familiar with the beautiful scenery and can come and soak up the atmosphere and beauty. In winter, being part of the Ski amadé ski region is a real plus. As well as being able to ski from the village (the ski bus is a 2 minute walk from the house) you have the opportunity to be a ski tourist, skiing from Mühlbach across neighbouring valleys all the way to Maria Alm and beyond. Within easy driving reach are Wagrain, Flachau, Obertauern and many more pistes. In summer guests can enjoy the stunning scenery, walking or hiking local paths. The Hochkönig itself is a formidable walk with incredible views at the top and a mountain hut for refreshments! The area boasts numerous walks with hütte (Alpine refreshment huts) handily spaced. Opportunities for rock climbing exist; there are medium and hard climbs as part of well identified routes on the Hochkönig itself. There are also great biking routes (the village has ebike hire). For those that fancy more leisurely cycling there is the bliss of the Zell am See valley nearby which has pleasant valley bottom riding alongside the River Salzach through picturesque villages. Our property has a bike workshop with equipment that guests are free to use. DVDs, books and games are available to borrow to help pass the hours when you are recovering from your day out.

This little cat has walked up to Matrashaus!, the hut on the top of our view at 2.941m. It is a looong walk from any approach and many hours of cat hiking! It has now made the national press here in Austria 🇦🇹 !
Diese kleine Katze ist bis zum Matrashaus gelaufen, der Hütte auf dem Gipfel unserer Aussicht auf 2.941 m. Es ist ein laaaanger Weg von jedem Zugangspunkt aus und viele Stunden Katzenwanderung! Sie hat es nun in die nationale Presse hier in Österreich geschafft.

Twenty minutes of heavy rainfall on Saturday resulted in 1.5m higher river water coming from around Schneeberg. It was a good job it wasn't any longer...
Zwanzig Minuten heftiger Regen am Samstag führten dazu, dass das Wasser des Flusses rund um den Schneeberg um 1,5 m anstieg. Es war gut, dass es nicht länger dauerte...🤞🌧🌊
