Hotel Staffler, the Multi-Award winning family run Hotel offering distinctive Staffler hospitality

Located in the Wildschonau, the Hotel Staffler is surrounded by the Austrian Alps. It offers traditionally furnished rooms with private bathrooms and free parking on site. Guest can use the cable car which is less than 200 meters away and ski or walk right back to the hotel. A free ski bus is available to take guests to other ski areas in the resort. The Staffler has a bar and restaurant and breakfast and three course evening meals are included in the price.

The new Wirbelwindweg hike in Niederau 🥾

What a great walk, reasonably testing and took around 2.5 hours. Beautiful scenery and it has a couple of play areas along the way - would highly recommend 👍

We went from the track along from the Halfenwirt and came out directly opposite the Bach Museum. Walked back into Niederau along the Franziskusweg - perfect 👌

Real treat too at the end of the walk as it was Corpus Christi music festival in Niederau and it was time for a beer 🍻

We absolutely love our groups!

Large or small, merry bands of folk have been a big part of our Staffler offering for many a year. Group leaders are angels in our eyes - herding the cats!

Many are back season after season, year after year, decade after decade! Our first ever group, was the last century!

It’s a testament to a loyalty borne out of a rich seam of service, ski guiding and bat s**t crazy days and nights - life is not a dress rehearsal !

Guiding available to many - full day or part ! Always try to accommodate the 'on hill' vagaries - groups together at lunchtimes and for any mountain based apres ski.

It’s not just the great food offering but the cracking atmosphere that is O’Malleys till late and our party and theme nights. We’ve Cowboy Night Karaoke and live music nights baked into all group arrivals and so much more!

Twelve or more and it’s a complimentary place. Transfer service too, if you utilise our tailor-made airport transfer service.

Always help along the way - from enquiry through the booking process and all the bits in between.

Bat s**t crazy - opened the doors to Chalet Mignard, Rue des Peytavines Serre Che, December 1984/85 for our very first Just Ski season - yes folks, that’s some 42 years ago!

The Lievre Blanc and Chalet Mesanges, followed with a foray into the Three Valleys.

Club 18 to 30 and Buddies before and the Hotel Staffler post and counting - 3 years short of half a century. Bat s**t crazy indeed.

All growing older, collecting baggage on those proverbial shoulders - suitcase upon suitcase. Now’s the time to cast them aside, at least for a few days and join us for the next edition of our Just Ski Reunion weekend at the Hotel Staffler.

JSR this winter runs 10 March through to 15 March - that’s four nights. We know some of you (especially those possibly travelling from afar) will want to stay longer, arriving earlier and staying later. Cowboy Night Karaoke on the Thursday, Saturday is always party night and live music on Sunday - fun on and off the slopes 🎉

Continuing with our usual JSR deal to commemorate the heady days of 1985 - charging just 85% of our normal March low season rate - you’re welcome ❤️

Feel free to bring along some mountain loving buddies too, we love Staffler newbies!

What a feel-good season for 25/26 and 26/27, seeing lots and lots of familiar faces - bring it on!

Doors open on 10 December 2026 - it’s full steam ahead until 31 March 2027.

Winter 26/27 - more guiding than ever - it seems so many more of you are up to speed! New ‘non-guiding’ rate for those who are not quite ready! We'll get you there eventually!

Low season rate for opening weekend, early January and ALL of March! Limited single rooms (no supp) in March and early January and some shorter, short stays too!

Groups – we love ya! Free accommodation (transfer too if booked) for 12 guests plus. Thanks for herding the cats!

Kids - we love ya too! Same price ALL season long - five and under absolutely free!

Some limited space at Christmas - it’s a magical week AND available at normal season rate, no peak week extras! Did you know Santa likes Jaegermeister!

We’ll be back!

10 December 2026 - opening weekend already busy and it’s always ‘Staffler’ special !

Arnie is a great skier too (his own words!) Plays in Sun Valley these days but learnt to ski in his native Austria!

Thank you all you wonderful folk for coming to play winter season 25/26

It’s a wrap !

What a season and 25 years at the Staffler

We’ve had raves, we’ve had wonderful new folk ‘Stafflered’ within hours of arriving, we’ve had amazing days on the hill and snow conditions that blow your mind, we’ve missed Ariel Nicolas and we shall miss Vicki Blackley (but she hasn’t gone far), we’ve had thumping tunes and great live music, we’ve had the best (and funniest) karaoke (more of that next season !! ), we’ve had Irish nights and great live music, we’ve had belly laughs and warm smiles but most of all, we’ve all savoured the Staffler love - thank you to you all, team and guests (all family), you know who you are ❤️

Now then, beautiful, funny, smart, Queen of hospitality and my lovely friend!

Off to enjoy pastures new next winter (and this summer) but she ain’t gone far !

Already talking about joining us for Irish Night each week (her night off) and the end of March when we have a Right Royal Regulars ‘get together’! She can’t keep away and we’ll see her the other side of the bar too! She’s made O’Malleys the best bar in town, of course she’ll come to play 🥳

Happy travels over the summer beautiful Vicky and she’s celebrating a special birthday in July - it’s only a number but she does love party 🎉
