January is named after the Roman god Janus, who had two faces so he could see the future and the past at the same time. He was also the god of doors, opening the way into a new year.

As we enter a new decade, have you ever wondered where the months of the year got their names? Discover more in this blog: http://ow.ly/l6aP30q1AXy
