Salzburg cable cars and hotels have to close
All cable cars in the State of Salzburg must close on Sunday evening. All accommodation providers must then close on Monday. The state government decided on Thursday evening. This is to prevent the spread of the corona virus.

After a discussion with representatives of tourism, gastronomy, the cable cars and the hotel industry, the decision was made that the cable cars throughout Salzburg would be closed on the basis of the Epidemic Act after the last day of operation next Sunday. In recent days, businesses in Salzburg's tourist resorts have had to be quarantined again and again after sick vacationers had tested positive for the corona virus.
It was only on Thursday evening that the district government imposed quarantine on accommodation in Tweng (Lungau), because three people from a holiday group from Germany had now tested positive for the Corona virus after returning home last Saturday.
The operators and employees are affected by the quarantine in Tweng. In total, there are ten people, said the State of Salzburg. The guest house also has 83 guests who stay quarantined overnight and can then travel home subject to conditions.
