Almost one month in a medieval village in Tuscany, where Wi-Fi and 5G reception aren’t available everywhere, researching lost manuscripts and forgotten musical heritage that has never been recorded in history.💻

Travelling from village to village, searching through old churches for missing pieces of a forgotten opera, of which only five pages of a piano score from an aria remain, with no complete score or libretto. Still hoping to find more, piece together the whole story, and bring this forgotten opera back to life.🔮

Completely opposite to YUM!, From a surreal, technology-oriented world to travelling back in time, across centuries, searching for an opera that doesn’t exist on the internet.🛜

And finally, AI cannot help at all! The internet isn’t everywhere, but the beauty of nature is everywhere.

It’s been an incredible three year journey with YUM!, since the very first idea was born at La Monnaie / De Munt back in 2023. Growing together with the FEDORA Platform FEDORA Digital Prize since 2024, and got its home at BREGENZER FESTSPIELE in 2025.

Today, we happily, proudly, and with very full hearts close the YUM! Bregenz chapter!❤️

First fresh behind-the-scenes of YUM! ✨

Our cast came together for the very first time: for a score reading, costume fittings, and the making of our one-of-a-kind Madame D avatar in VR.🔮

So lucky to have this wonderful cast and team. We worked hard, laughed a lot, and are now counting down to full rehearsals.🔥
A lovely coincidence,YUM! kicks off on the very day the BREGENZER FESTSPIELE officially opens! Sending lots of YUM! love from Vienna to Bregenz.💚
