the installation by David Meran (https://www.davidmeran.com/) reimagines the tradition of storytelling carpets. from nomadic symbols to the design statement. translated into a contemporary art. the hotel becomes more than a hotel. it becomes a place where viennese history meets art.

a world inspired by the prater. colorful, surreal and a little wild.

theaters, cinemas, stages and performances.

this installation follows a similar dramaturgy:
four acts - four perspectives on the space.
sometimes the text takes center stage.
sometimes it steps back.

the room becomes a stage and our guests become part of it.

the third act:

after breakfast.
after dinner.
after the evening.
memories after the day.

carpets tell stories. once about journeys, tribes, and status.
around 1900 in Vienna, the Wiener Werkstätte reimagined the carpet: not just craft - but design.
David continues this tradition. word by word. knot by knot.
the sentences almost read like memes dry. reduced. poetic.

a carpet can do more than cover the floor. it can make you arrive. historically, carpets carried information:
nomadic art. a status symbol. stories told through knots.
today, artist David Meran 👨‍🎨 reinterprets this idea. in the lobby, as a statement of contemporary living art. every knot is a pixel. analog meets digital.🪢
and it all begins with a simple sentence:
