🎶🎭 Every floor in our house tells a different Vienna story, and this one belongs to the Theater an der Wien, just across from us.

The nine rooms on this floor follow little traces of theatre history: Schikaneder’s Papageno Gate, old theatre programmes, great voices, composers, operas and moments that still belong to Vienna’s cultural memory.

Emperor Franz Joseph had this quiet retreat built for his beloved Sisi. ✨

He hoped the Hermesvilla would give the travel-loving Empress Elisabeth a place where she would want to stay a little longer in Vienna.

Today, the Hermesvilla lies in the middle of the Lainzer Tiergarten and belongs to the Wien Museum. You can visit the villa and combine it with one of the loveliest walks in Vienna.
