A house with a history. A new way to experience Vienna. 🏨
Built in the era of Vienna’s Gründerzeit, the house at Salesianergasse 2 is part of the city’s 19th-century architectural character.
Its proportions, generous ceiling heights and original wooden windows still tell the story of the building’s past — a time when Vienna was rapidly expanding and the city’s grand residential architecture was taking shape.
Over the years, the building changed with the city. It became a hotel and was known as Starlight Suiten Hotel Wien Heumarkt, welcoming guests to one of Vienna’s most central neighbourhoods.
Today, the historic building has a new identity as HiLight Suites Hotel.
Rather than dividing the space into conventional hotel rooms, HiLight Suites was designed around a different idea: more space, more freedom, more of a feeling of home. Each 35–50 m² suite combines separate areas for living and sleeping, individual layouts and contemporary details with the character of the original building.
The result is a hotel that does not try to hide its history. High ceilings, original windows and the proportions of the historic house remain part of the experience — while the interiors bring a contemporary, comfortable way of living to the building.
The architecture belongs to Vienna’s past. The way you experience it is entirely today.
