1770 Beach Accommodation is a family-run boutique holiday accommodation business based in Agnes Water and the Town of 1770 (Seventeen Seventy), Queensland. We look after a handpicked collection of holiday homes, beach houses, coastal apartments and pet-friendly stays across the Discovery Coast, gateway to the Southern Great Barrier Reef. Run by the Croome family (Richard, Jo and Jasmin), we offer

A complete guest-ready service for short term rentals in Agnes Water and 1770.

As a full-service holiday accommodation agency, we manage your property's linen, guest consumables and cleaning, so every guest's stay is in a carefully and thoughtfully presented space.

The linen is professionally prepared. Fresh bed linen, triple sheeted; bath towels, hand towels, bath mats and tea towels: what your property needs.

We are committed to the five-star presentation of your home for our guests, and your peace of mind knowing your property is being cared for.

The tea, coffee, sugar and milk, kitchen and cleaning essentials are restocked between each stay. The toiletries, hand soap and laundry powder. Mozzie coils. All the small things guests only notice when they are missing.

We also keep a child's portacot and additional bed for when the sleeping arrangements need to stretch, which is available to owners and local households alike.

All of it is managed in house, personally, and we take pride in the care of our holiday homes.

How dog friendly is Agnes Water & 1770?
As dog people ourselves, we can proudly say it's VERY dog friendly 🐕

International Dog Day falls this Wednesday, so we thought we'd do a round up of where the four legged members of the family are welcome.

Agnes Water Main Beach:
Dogs are allowed along most of the beach, though not in the patrolled bathing area at the southern end (at Main beach). There is a large stretch of the beach that is off leash stretch further north. Signage at each beach access tells you exactly where you stand.

The 1770 foreshore:
Calm, shallow water. On leash, and lovely for a slow afternoon. You can even hire SUP boards and teach the dog to paddle!

Endeavour Park and Air Sea Rescue Park in 1770:
Both on leash, both with playgrounds and public facilities, and both only meters from the water. As a bonus, Rusty Pelican's fish & chips is dog friendly.

Cruising Round 1770:
A number of their boats are pet friendly, no licence required, and seats up to ten. Hard to beat an afternoon on the water with your dog aboard.

Agnes Coast Vet Clinic:
Our AMAZING local vet is located on Round Hill Road in Agnes Water if you need them while you are here. You would have passed them when you came into town, they have the cute letterbox with the cats 🐈‍⬛

One thing worth knowing before you go. Seasonal restrictions apply in a few spots, including bird nesting and turtle nesting seasons, so always check the signage at the beach access before letting them off the lead.

The local visitors centre Agnes Water / 1770 Visitor Information Centre and the lovely folks at Discover 1770 Holiday Shop Agnes Water are also a great resource.

Now leasing in Agnes Water.

2/52 Captain Cook Drive. A freshly painted and upgraded two bedroom, two bathroom unit in a quiet, sought after pocket of town. The beach is 250 metres away along a sandy track through the paperbark forest, and the town centre is an easy walk.

Inside there is an open plan kitchen and living area, built in wardrobes in both bedrooms and white goods included. Queen beds are in both rooms at the moment and can be removed if you would prefer. The laundry has a sink and a second fridge.

Outside, established gardens wrap a welcoming front deck, with a private rear patio and small back garden at the other end for a quiet cup of tea. Two carports, and residents share a lovely pool.

Coffee is at the end of the driveway at Here and There Espresso, with Thai Home only a few steps further on, and 1770 a short drive up the road.

It suits someone after peaceful surroundings, beach access and the convenience of being close to everything.

Merindah is our go-to for the big trips.

Set in central Agnes Water with room for ten across a three-bedroom main home upstairs and a fully self-contained studio downstairs. It's the property for families combining forces, group getaways, or the kind of week where everyone wants their own space (but no one wants to spread across four different houses!).

Upstairs sits the main living space, with an open-plan kitchen and lounge that spills out onto wide front and side decks made for BBQs. Three bedrooms up top: a king master, a queen, and a twin room for the kids or a third couple. Downstairs is a self-contained studio with its own queen bed, kitchenette, TV and bathroom. Private enough for grandparents or the friends who like their own space.

Air conditioning throughout, wifi, a full laundry, and plenty of parking for cars, boats or trailers. Walking distance to Agnes Water Main Beach and the local cafes, shops and restaurants, and a six-minute drive across to 1770 for the boat tours and the sunsets. Pets welcome too, so the dog gets a getaway as well.

If you're thinking of a late winter break with the whole family, Merindah is one of the few stays this size with some availability left.

The PGA Legends Tour is back at 1770 Golf Course on Friday 17 and Saturday 18 July, and if you've been looking for a reason to book a Discovery Coast weekend, this might be it.

Spectating is free across both days, and the junior clinic on the Saturday makes it a proper family day out even if golf isn't your thing.
If you're travelling up for the PGA event, we've still got a handful of stays available across the event weekend:

➳ Bimbimbi puts you right in 1770, a short stroll from the boardwalk and the marina.

➳ Narli Shores is a beautifully finished studio with a private terrace spa. Resort lagoon pool and heated whirlpool bath on the doorstep.

➳ Seaview has a standout outlook over 1770 and is made for slower mornings with a coffee and the horizon.

School holidays are nearly upon us, and if you've got the kids up here for a week (or are still thinking about it), here are six local ways to help keep them busy! All within a short drive, most within walking distance.

Horizons Kangaroo Sanctuary for an up-close meet with rescued kangaroos. 1770 LARC! Tours for the iconic pink amphibious cruise through Eurimbula. Surf lessons at Main Beach with Gnarly Tours or Stylez Surf School. The Pole Art Trail, our 27 painted poles you can walk or cycle between. Workman's Beach parkrun on Saturday mornings, kids and dogs welcome. And the Sunday markets at the SES Grounds, running every weekend through the school holidays.

Kingfisher is the easy-going family pick of our properties. A short walk through the dunes to Main Beach, a heated communal pool for the days you'd rather not move far, and a layout that suits everyone from couples to families travelling with kids in tow.

Three bedrooms sleep up to six. The queen master comes with its own ensuite, the second queen room sits next door, and a twin single room rounds it out for the kids or a third couple. There's a large terrace with outdoor seating and a BBQ, a full kitchen, plenty of room to spread out, and the sound of waves never far away.

For the practical side of things, there's air conditioning, fast WiFi, a washing machine and dryer, underground parking, and lift access throughout. It's step-free if accessibility matters to you.

School holidays start in a week, and these are our four pet-friendly picks for families bringing the whole crew, dogs included.

Bayview is the only one with a fully fenced yard, set in a quiet cul-de-sac and sleeping six. Up to two small dogs or one medium dog are welcome, and there's parking out the front for the boat or caravan if you're towing.

McLeods is the walkable base in central Agnes Water, sleeping six, with up to two small or medium pets welcome. The property is unfenced, so it suits owners happy to supervise outdoor time.

Merindah is the largest of the four. A main house upstairs and a self-contained studio below means room for ten, ideal for multi-family trips with the family dog along. Unfenced, with a pet fee.

Sunset Villa is the quiet 1770 option, sleeping four with elevated views across the bay. Up to two pets welcome, veranda fenced, perimeter not.
