Hello my name is Pria.
I am a proud indian Australian.
I am from west part of India, Gujarat.
We gujarati has reputation of harbouring "entrepreneur" quality in our DNA.
So I like to share my entrepreneurship story when I was 10 years old.
I had set up a funding body by collecting 2 rupees ( like collecting $2) from my friends. And any friend can have access to money as loan, when needed to buy their favourite toy or stationary item.
We had maximum loan amount set to rupees 10( $10), which we increased to 20 in just two months.
I would charge 50 Paisa (like in aussy version 50 cent) interest per week per 10 rupees loan.
And interest free for some one who repays with in a week.
I did increased the interest ...so instead of charging 50 paisa every 10 rupees we would charge interest on 5 rupees (but some of the people thought I have decreased something. As it was 5 instead of 10 and no I was not conning anyone some of the kids were 3 to 4 years elder than me.)
We manage to collceted huge amount ( huge for 10 to 13 years kids)..we decided to spend among the group.. we had enough money at the end of the year that we manage to sponsor fair entry at Diwali for each memebers ( Indian New year celebrations) and each member had 10 rupees to spend on ride or toy.
For my business I had only one motto "to do what is right/ fair."
Money can be earned but in business or life once you loss your reputation you loose the business one way or other.
One of the big kid try to take over my business which I did sale my business to him for 50 rupees..gave pepsicola( INDAIN version of zooper dopper) party to commitee memebrs...the new business owner well..he made some questionable changes and used to listen to every one so obviously business crashed.
Fast forward to now, me and my husband we own Motel business. Hume inn motel Albury The Hume inn Motel and we still live by the motto of "do right".
If some one is paying for $110 room they should get quality of $110.
Also when ever we have an opportunity to give back to our beautiful Albury Wodonga community, we never miss an opportunity of collecting our good Karma..ππ
Thank you for reading my story.
